Can you live in a different city like London or Birmingham, and commute to study in Swansea?

As an international student you are advised to stay within 50miles radius from the university since attendance is a serious concern for international students covered under our visa stipulations.

London and Birmingham are at roughly about 4hour drive one way trip from Swansea.

The UKVI, under the Home Office, requires students holding a visa sponsored by a university to participate in their studies in-person. This entails residing within a reasonable commuting distance to the university and attending during core working hours when necessary. The university considers a reasonable commutable distance to be up to 50 miles from the campus where you are enrolled.

Even though there are bus links and rail lines that link to other parts of the UK, it simply would not be advisable to commute in long distances to school. It might take an unnecessary toll on your well-being and it may also lead to adverse effects on your academic performance. On-campus accommodation is available and there are many private accommodation providers and landlords within the Swansea area.
